Working alongside world-changing NGOs, our Philanthropic Journeys are led by Development Experts and designed to bring guests to the heart of global challenges in critical need of attention. This is a chance to get behind the scenes and see Myanmar through the eyes of local change-makers.

In 2021 we are offering an exciting opportunity to explore Myanmar after the elections take place. Take part in open and candid discussions with local grassroots campaigners who will give you access to information that very few visitors to Myanmar ever hear. Travel in the knowledge that inbuilt donations from this tour will make a lasting and tangible impact on the efforts of extraordinary NGOs who are striving for legislative change in Myanmar.

HIGHLIGHTS include:

  • Travel alongside a British Travel Specialist who has lived in Myanmar for decades and will introduce you to his local Burmese friends working across a variety of professions.
  • Meet local grassroots activists and learn from these inspiring people the current human rights situation in Myanmar.
  • Meet local writers and professionals who have seen the country change and develop at the roots such as Ma Thanegi, the writer and former Secretary to Aung San Suu Kyi.
  • Explore the remote and little-visited region of Loikaw and the Karen Hills south of Inle Lake.

From £5,000 per person based on two people sharing, including three nights at the Savoy Yangon, two nights at Bagan Lodge, two nights at Sanctum Inle Resort and two nights at Loikaw Lodge. Includes private transfers, private guiding and all meals.

This departure is subject to ongoing developments of Covid-19 and national elections due to take place in 2020. Tour dates and further details will be confirmed when we are certain it is appropriate and safe to visit Myanmar in line with local and FCO guidelines.
