book clubs abroad .

For those who love literature and great writing in all its forms, our Book Clubs Abroad will introduce you to writers and literary events across the globe. If you have a small group of book-lovers keen to travel, we are bursting with ideas for how to explore the world through literature.

Every January, one of the greatest literary events on earth takes place in Rajasthan’s capital city, Jaipur. Past speakers at the Jaipur Literature Festival have included Michael Ondaatje, VS Naipaul and Tom Stoppard and the calibre remains at these lofty peaks each year. We can arrange special access to the Festival itself and exclusive events for you and your group alongside the thinkers and writers attending that week. Beyond Jaipur there are many possibilities for literary journeys throughout India such as Arundhati Roy’s Kerala or Arvind Adiga’s Delhi.

We are currently researching some fantastic literary journeys in England. These will include a retreat in Cornwall to delve into the works of Daphne DuMaurier, an exploration of Jane Austen’s Hampshire and special access to leading academics working in Oxford. If you and your book group are keen to explore your passion for literature away from home, call us and we can start planning your trip.

Storytelling has always been an integral part of Irish culture as is reflected in the richness of Ireland’s Literature. In our mind, literary experiences here should include Dublin, UNESCO’s City of Literature where you can follow in the footsteps of Bram Stoker, James Joyce, WB Yeats, Seamus Heaney and George Bernard Shaw (to name a few). Beyond this exciting city, the wild and dramatic landscapes of Ireland are the perfect matrix for creative thought and expression.
